The winning candidate for this position will work closely with our San Diego development team to build applications to expand Sorenson Media video software solutions and extend internal system automation, build compelling integrations between our server, desktop and cloud applications.

Required
- Ruby on Rails experience
- Database design, SQL
- Object Oriented and MVC frameworks
- Test Driven Development
- Comfortable using Linux
- Not afraid to learn, fail and try new techniques…
- 1 - 3 years of software development professional experience
Nice-to-Have’s
- HTML5, jQuery
- Python, PHP or Java
- Amazon AWS experience
- Experience integrating with third-party RESTful APIs

Required
- Must be capable w/Avid MC, Adobe Premiere or Apple FCP… ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS. Affinity w/more than 1 NLE preferred.
- Behind-the-Camera talent, familiarity with shoot basics, esp. lighting.
- Creative eye for self-designed shoots + time management + organization skills.
- Detail-oriented and visually discriminating.
Nice-to-Have’s
- Motion graphics background – Adobe After Effects, Apple Motion.
- Graphic design background – Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator ideal.
- Basic coding ability html for emails and willingness to learn coding for the web.
- Ability to design Marketing related materials such as Ads, emails and data sheets.
